河北外国语学院是中国教育部批准，河北省唯一一所独立设置的外国语大学，成立于1998年，位于河北省省会石家庄，距北京乘高铁仅60分钟的车程，是国家重点支持的5A级民办高校、全省10所重点应用型本科试点大学之一。现有在校生26000余人，开设75个语种、134个本专科专业，语种数量居全国高校第二位，专业涉及传媒类、计算机类、建筑类、教育类、商务商贸类、医护类、金融类、旅游管理类、艺术类、外国文学类等十个领域。
学校广泛聘请国际知名学者来校访学、担任荣誉和客座教授并开展各种学术交流活动。近年来，学校共引进“一带一路”国家非通用语种外国专家210余名，覆盖“一带一路”国家所有语言，是中国民办高校中外籍院士最多，外籍专家数量最多的高校。
Approved and accredited by the Ministry of Education of China, Hebei International Studies University (hereafter referred to as HISU) is the only foreign language studies university with independent system in Hebei Province. Located in Shijiazhuang city, the capital of Hebei Province (close to Beijing, only 60 minutes by bullet train) and founded in 1998, HISU is a five-star private university which has gained sufficient support from the central government of China and is one of the 10 key application-oriented undergraduate universities in Hebei Province. HISU has approximately 26,000 full-time students, and it offers 134 programs which cover 75 foreign languages. Apart from the language programs, it offers a wide range of other eight discipline programs such as Nursing, Finance, Architecture, Computer science, Business, Education, Arts.
The university has extensively hired internationally renowned scholars to visit the university, serve as honorary and visiting professors, and carry out various academic exchange activities. In recent years, the university has introduced more than 210 foreign experts in non-common languages of the "Belt and Road" countries, covering all languages of the "Belt and Road" countries, and is the university with the largest number of foreign academicians and foreign experts among private universities in China.
