Capital Medical University is a key institution of higher learning in Beijing. It is a joint institution established by the Beijing Municipal Government, the National Health Commission and the Ministry of Education. The university has 11 colleges, 1 research center and 21 clinical medical schools (19 of which are affiliated hospitals). A total of 12 disciplines have entered the top 1% of ESI disciplines in the world. Among them, clinical medicine ranks the top 0.3 ‰ of ESI disciplines. It has the right to grant master's and doctoral professional degrees in all medical and medical-related disciplines. There are 9 post-doctoral research mobile stations.
